Oct. 11 Deadline: Help Us With Voter Registration!

We're sure that YOU are registered to vote – but what about your friends, family and colleagues? People in your neighborhood or place of worship? If they're not registered by Tuesday, Oct. 11, they won't be able to vote in the Nov. 8 election. CLICK HERE FOR A VOTER REGISTRATION FORM.

CivCity's voter resource,, has more info. Check out The Basics page if you need details about registering, voting absentee, polling locations and more. And of course we've got loads of info about local candidates and ballot proposals, as well as upcoming election-related events.

UM Ginsberg Center:
Promoting Active Citizenship

Under the leadership of Mary Jo Callan, the Ginsberg Center is cranking up the volume on campus civic engagement. Among other things, they're registering students via TurboVote and hosting election events – including a presidential debate watch party on Monday, Sept. 26!

CivCity's executive director, Mary Morgan, is Ginsberg's Community-Leader-In-Residence for 2016-17. We're excited to be partnering with their energized staff and strategic efforts to support informed, engaged voters!

Skyline High Students Help CivCity's Voter Education

CivCity is again working with students in Skyline High School's Communication, Media & Public Policy magnet program. They'll be developing videos to help inform voters about local candidates and ballot proposals. We'll keep you posted as their work progresses!

It's happening! With less than 2 months until the Nov. 8 election, we're working hard to make sure residents are registered to vote and aware of what's on the ballot – especially local candidates and ballot proposals.

Please check out our new online voter resource, It's full of info, resources, tools and more – and you'll see familiar faces in our photo gallery!

I also hope you can attend a public forum on participatory budgeting that we're co-sponsoring with a2ethics and the local League of Women Voters. Join us on Thursday, Sept. 29 at the downtown library (343 S. Fifth Ave.) from 7-8:30 p.m. Hope to see you there!

We're grateful to CivCIty's supporters, who understand that a healthy community relies on strengthening our civic life. Participating in local elections is one crucial way to do that.

– Mary Morgan, CivCity Founder & Executive Director
