Get Your Vote On!

The Tuesday, Aug. 2 election is just 3 weeks away – crazy! You'll be voting for local candidates, including Ann Arbor city councilmembers, Washtenaw County commissioners and more. Two tax proposals are also on the Aug. 2 ballot in Ann Arbor – for sidewalk/street repair and construction, and Washtenaw Community College operations.

We've launched a new voter resource,, to help you be the most informed voter on this planet – at least, on Planet Ann Arbor. Check it out!

We're in the let-everyone-know-about-it phase, so you'll be seeing posters and cards around town making sure everyone is aware of this important local election on Aug. 2.

Posters in the windows of The Workantile on Main Street.
We need your help to spread the word – on social media, in the real world, or whatever other dimension you occupy. Let us know what you think!

CivCity Badges in AADL's Summer Game!

If you're not playing the Ann Arbor District Library's Summer Game, what's wrong with you?! (Just kidding – more space on the leaderboard for the rest of us!)

Players earn points and CivCity badges for doing things like attending public meetings and finding game codes there. We also awarded badges to several players who marched with us in the July 4th parade. (See below for proof!) More badge drops to come, so stay tuned and stay civic!!

Parading for CivCity!

We had a blast on July 4th, with CivCity supporters marching to promote the Aug. 2 local election and our online resource. Thanks to everyone who participated in the Ann Arbor Fourth of July parade, and thanks to the Jaycees for organizing yet another year of festivities!

When even sentient Ann Arborites don't realize there's an election in August, we're doing something wrong. And by "we," of course, I mean "our community."

This year, CivCity is making it harder to ignore the Aug. 2 local election. More importantly, we're helping voters become more informed about the decisions they make when they cast their ballot.

Our new voter resource,, is made possible with generous support of The Buhr Foundation and the work of Bidlack Creative Group. The Ann Arbor Area Spirit of Woodstock Fund is supporting our efforts to publicize the election, with posters and cards by Quack!Media.

We're grateful to all of CivCIty's supporters, who understand that a healthy community relies on strengthening our civic life. Participating in local elections is one crucial way to do that.

– Mary Morgan, CivCity Founder & Executive Director
