Tony Marks at Starfish & Coffee

Since 2017 Tony Marks has been very busy putting Starfish & Coffee on the map as one of Brighton's top eateries for brunch (#brunchlikeaboss). We chat with Tony and learn of his competitive streak, his top tips from other award winning chefs and the best bits about running your own business.

November is World Vegan Month

This month, plant-based eaters from across the globe celebrate their sustainable and cruelty-free lifestyle. For many it's an opportunity to try a little more plant-based living or take the 30 day vegan challenge, in what is becoming one of the fastest growing global food trends.

To celebrate the month, we introduce you to a few of Brighton's vegan success stories.

The Biggie Smorls

Not only do Smorl’s Brighton make, in our opinion, the best houmous you will ever taste, but they also serve hungry tummies, delicious and nourishing vegan lunches in Brighton’s Open Market. On the menu are, falafel bolognese, loaded salads, houmous pies, mezze cakes and their famous falafels pitta pockets, otherwise known as the ‘Biggie Smorl's’ which you can learn about just here.

The Great Moshimo Vegan Challenge 2020

Ten years ago Moshimo used their position as one of Brighton’s most popular restaurants to create two high profile sustainability campaigns, Fishlove and The Great Moshimo Vegan Challenge. For 2020 Restaurants Brighton is excited to announce we will be Media Partners for The Great Moshimo Vegan Challenge and we're on the look out for the next wave of top chefs to compete.

The Great Moshimo Vegan Challenge 2019 first place went to Jake Swayne and Adam Eynon of
The Roundhill Pub. For more information about The Great Vegan Challenge just click here,  or if you're interested in participating in the challenge then get in touch.
