Antiques, dogs, local brew, and you

September in our fair city is as busy as it was back in the turn of the century! This edition of our newsletter is jam-packed with fun events and wonderful discoveries. We hope to see you in Albany soon.

Antiques in the Streets

C'mon downtown treasure hunters! On Saturday, September 10th, make sure to get up early and bring your cash. Over 50 vendors will set up their wares—old dolls, sheet music, fountain pens, jewelry, china, furniture, and other vintage treasures will be available. Booths open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 4:00 p.m. A classic car show with 150 cars will be on display too. Proceeds from the event will go to Habitat for Humanity. Read more about it.

Australian Shepherd Club of America

The Aussies are coming to town... dogs that is, Sept. 10th - 17th, and you won't want to miss seeing this amazing breed herd over 500 ducks and cattle too. So much to see and admire at the 2016 Australian Shepherd Club of America Nationals—all taking place at the Linn County Expo Center. The public is invited to attend, and you can purchase special raffle tickets at the "Tough Enough To Wear Pink" event on Tuesday, Sept. 13th. Read all about the show.

The 5th Annual Craft Brew Smackdown

If you love Oregon's craft brew industry as much as we do, you won't want to miss this incredible opportunity to sample some of the Mid-Valley's best. On Friday, September 16th, breweries, distilleries, and cider houses will bring their products into downtown small businesses so that attendees can taste and visit with shop owners at the same time. Tickets are $20 and the price includes a free tasting glass and 10 tasting tickets. You can purchase tickets right here at the Albany Visitors Association. Participants must be 21 and over to join the fun. Read more about this year's event.

End of Summer Passport Party

Congratulations to our "Journey to the Center of Albany" summer explorers. The grand party is scheduled for Saturday, September 17th, at the Pix Theatre. The fun starts at 10:30 a.m. and fantastic prizes will be awarded, including tickets on Amtrak, toys, sports gear, rides on an Albany fire truck, and much much more.  As long as you've turned in your passport, you are eligible to win the raffle, although party-goers can enter to win extra door-prizes. Read all about it.
