"Fall" in Love. With Historic Albany!

As we move deeper into beautiful November, our region is alive with glistening green fields, grazing sheep, and fragrant with the first rains of the Willamette Valley. Become a part of our community, take part in all the season has to offer, and fall in love with our beautiful city.

Honoring our veterans.

This Friday, November 11th, we celebrate and thank our country's veterans for their service. We are excited to announce that the 65th Annual Veterans Day Parade will take place at 11:00 a.m. in Downtown Albany. Help honor our service men and women by bringing the entire family downtown to see the parade. Honor Guards, floats, marching bands and horses—it's all a part of the excitement. For more information, telephone 541-981-2390 or stop by the AVA office.

The 2016 Holiday Light Contest

Time to open up those storage tubs and untangle the holiday lights. Remember to "stay calm and shine on!"

The Albany Visitors Association is helping to make this coming holiday season bright by sponsoring the 29th Annual Night Time Magic Holiday Light Program.

Albany residents are encouraged to enter the contest for best use of lights in decorating the exterior of their homes. Lights must be on display from December 1st through January 1st.

Awesome prizes await the winners, so no time to snooze.  See all of the ideas and grab your entry form on the AVA website.

The Seven Trails of Albany - Chapter Four

The fourth in our series by AVA Executive Director Jimmie Lucht, checks into the history and influences that helped form our city and the surrounding Linn County region. Dive deep into living history with demonstrations and displays, check out the nearby small town of Brownsville (home to the classic cult film “Stand By Me”) and the first of many covered bridges—the Weddle Covered Bridge in Sweet Home. Follow the trail backwards in time.
