One day I decided to have faith and not be afraid.
I remember that when recently we arrived to live in the bay area, I was driving over the 101 freeway and my kids came with me. Our first car was very old and suddenly, the car began to fail, it was a Hyundai that already been running for about 10 years.
We were there, in the middle of the highway, my three children with me, depending of me. I felt panic!
I did not have a cell phone; I could not call anyone to help me.
Thank God I had time to go to the edge of the highway.
I took a deep breath and remembered that recently I had learned that "parents" should be the leaders in the face of difficult situations.
Parents should have self-control in challenging situations, and this was one of those situations.
I spoke calmly to the kids and told them that someone would surely help us.
I began to pray in silence...
“My God send help, take care of us, and do not abandon us, please.”
I made this prayer looking down, suddenly I looked ahead and there it was ... a small red truck, in front of us. It was Arturo Jimenez, our brother from the
"Latinos Unidos en Cristo" Church, our Church.
We had just met the Jimenez family that year. They had a baby and we had our three teenagers.
The Lord in his infinite kindness sent our brother in faith to help us, Arturo is an expert in many things, but I’m not sure being a mechanic think was his strong point. However he opened the hood of the car and fixed it.
Until today Jimenez Family are our friends. Although they no longer live here, they moved to Sacramento and we are still in contact.
We always remember them with the same love, because we know that God helped us through them on many occasions.
Please, dear Lord, always bless the Jimenez Family and “Thank you, Lord, for your mercy and love for us, on that day and always, amen”
