FEBRUARY 3 - 24, 2017

Theodore Gall
Bird House (House of Wisdom), 2017
Bronze, 31.5 x 39 x 12 in

Theodore Gall began his career in the arts in the mid-sixties as a film animator and continued to broaden his skills as a graphic designer. With his limitless imagination, Gall creates wondrous cast bronze or aluminum sculptures, from large to small, depicting elaborate and unique scenes. The human form has always been Gall’s primary focus, and he enjoys placing his compelling figures in thought-provoking situations. Gall is renowned for his intricate human and animal masked heads, which open at least once, leading viewers to discover even more complexity within. Theodore Gall studied at the American Academy of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago, where he continues as a consultant.

Trevor Goss
Untitled Series, 2011
Acrylic on canvas with holographic leaf, 60 x 60 in

Trevor Goss embraced a world of light. Informed by an unparalleled knowledge of color and technique, Goss’ paintings are not only about light, they are light. Born in South Africa in 1942 and educated in Cape Town and London, Goss was an experimental painter and sculptor. In addition to being a fine artist, he employed his own unique applications of light-refractive, color-changing holographic material, producing large scale installations for the entertainment industry. This extraordinary posthumous exhibition of paintings includes both retrospective works as well as Trevor Goss' last full series of paintings in its entirety, completed before his death in 2012, which has never been seen before now.

In addition to meeting the artists and viewing their work, visitors to CODA Gallery during First Friday Art Walk will enjoy live music as well a wine bar, which benefits Animal Samaritans and features wines from Organic Wine Exchange. A percentage of the evening's art sales will also be donated to support Animal Samaritan's very worthy projects.
