Have you got your Active Kids Sports Voucher yet?

The NSW Government is helping kids get active with the new Active Kids program.

Parents, guardians and carers can apply for two vouchers valued up to $100 per calendar year for each student enrolled in school.
The voucher may be used with a registered activity provider for registration, participation and membership costs for sport, fitness and active recreation activities.

The voucher can be used at any time during the calendar year it was issued.

To apply for a voucher go to https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-active-kids-voucher

Our club is a registered provider, search for "Concord Baseball Club Inc."

Please be advised that the online registration system is not able to automatically apply the active kids voucher. The club has a manual process in place. Once you have your active kids voucher you will need to supply the club with the 16-digit code. The club will then submit the code through NSW Service and reinburse the $100 back to our members. Please send through details to concord.baseball@gmail.com

Lastly, the discount code section on the payment page of our online registration is not for Active Kids Vouchers. Please follow the manual process above.

BBQ Duty

The committee appreciates the work done on the BBQ and thanks all those that help, whether they are rostered on or asked to assist. Without this method of raising funds, the committee would need to resort to higher fees, selling raffle tickets and asking for a significant amount of financial support. Please note that this helps the club keep fees low and helps fund equipment. At the end of the day this will affect your pocket, so keep up the good work!

  • A reminder also of the yellow cards issued by umpires against team coaches should the spectators supporting a particular team direct any verbal abuse to any player, umpire or official. A first yellow card offence and the team manager is confined to the team dugout. a second yellow card offence in the same game and the coach is ejected from the game.

  • Catchers throat guards - it is an RHBL directive that all catchers masks are to have throat protectors. Any team, who's catcher does not have a face mask throat protector, will result in the entire team not being able to play.

  • Illegal Bats - It is the teams coach and manager's responsibility to ensure that legal equipment is being used. Hence if an illegal bat is discovered before the game it will be removed from the dugout and not used in the game. If a bat is discovered to be illegal just after the batter has used the bat in play, time will be called, the bat removed and written up in the match report and the batter will be given out. "Hard On You"

We continue to hear reports of the comment "Hard On You" being made at matches. Our association is working hard to remove this from the game and have put in place a process for dealing with such calls, which may result in the team coach being issue a yellow warning card.

Please be aware that remarks such as "Hard on you" indirectly meant for the umpire or any remarks indirectly made towards the opposing pitchers will end up in a yellow card being issued to the team coach which means he/she is confined to the dugout for the remainder of the game. A second yellow card will result in the coach being ejected from the field. RHBL now require ground marshals to walk the grounds while games are being played. Such remarks as mentioned above may result in the ground marshal issuing a warning to the parent / supporter on top of the yellow card being issued to the coach. Also the ground marshal may request the parent / supporter to leave the grounds should the comments continue after a warning has already been issued

Wet Weather Policy and Game Cancellations

In the event of inclement weather your manager will advise cancellations via Team Stuff as soon as the information is available.  This can be as late as 7:30am on game day.  RHBL will be advertising field closures on their website for your reference.  It is the Home Team’s responsibility to advise the visiting team if the game is cancelled.

A list of contacts for each team can be found on the RHBL website or by following the link https://www.rhbl.com.au/hawks-juniors/competition/club-contacts

Failure to notify will result in a forfeit by the Home Team.
