A Sustainable West of England? Metro Mayor Hustings

A Sustainable West of England? Metro Mayor Hustings

25 April, 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Arrival and registration from 6pm

Priory Road Lecture Theatre, University of Bristol

On 4th May, anyone living in Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire will be able to vote for a new West of England ‘metro mayor’. This new role will have important powers over transport, housing and skills in particular, and marks a shift in power from Westminster and a significant change for our region.

We want to make sure that environmental sustainability is a priority for the new metro mayor, and Bristol Green Capital Partnership - with Bristol Festival of Ideas and University of Bristol, and in association with Friends of the Earth - is hosting a hustings on 25th April. This will be an opportunity to hear from the candidates on their environmental sustainability policies. Book your place now as tickets are going fast!

You can also submit your questions for the candidates around the four main theme areas for the event: air quality, transport, housing and the green belt, and future powers for the West of England. We will draw on your suggestions on the night.
