Please take a few moments to help me think through mobility and transportation improvements in our neighborhoods -- I need your feedback!
As you know, there are many high-priority mobility needs throughout our neighborhoods. These include sidewalks, traffic calming (such as speed humps, cushions and median islands), bike lanes, and pedestrian hybrid devices (crosswalks with signals activated by pedestrians), among others.
My staff has worked with the Transportation Department to identify some of District 7's highest needs, based on community concerns we have heard and research staff has done. We have grouped these projects into "mobility packages."
Please take a moment to give your thoughts on how you would prioritize mobility projects in District 7 by clicking on the following link, looking over each of these packages, and ranking them (there is also an option to contribute your thoughts on other worthy projects).
Note that many of the packages are grouped around schools in our district. In a year in which Austin has already seen a number of vehicle-related tragedies, one of my priorities has been to help ensure our children can get to and from school safely. These projects will not immediately solve all of our needs, but they will help keep our children safe and maintain the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
I look forward to hearing your input! If you have any questions or comments regarding mobility or any other issues, please do not hesitate to contact my staff at District7@AustinTexas.gov.
