I am there in your faith, in this Shraddha. I am in THAT. THAT is how I exist. So I don’t mind if you put up your own photo and say, ‘I worship my own self!’ Shraddha is the most basic prerequisite to experience Divinity outside or inside, in whatever way. And that Shraddha is something that the Guru is capable of giving, because by listening to the words of a Guru, by following his footsteps, by practising what he tells us to do – Shraddha can be developed. This helps one to realise the divinity in all forms, in all names, and in all places!

With the Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, we are delighted to present our One Hundred and Seventy Fifth issue of Ananda Vahini. The weekly newsletter includes interesting musings and short excerpts from the week's events.

In this issue, we present you Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai's
Divine Message, delivered on the auspicious day of Ugadi.

The Rajiv Gandhi University for Health Sciences in Bangalore, will introduce the Divine Mother and Child Health Program (DMCHP) as a flagship programme of the University, details of which have been shared in this issue.

To be with God at all times, we must engage in doing good day and night, and this week’s Inner View gives us this beautiful insight.

Pay in Goodness
“How to be always with you?”, a devotee asked Swami with all sincerity.

Swami said, “To get anything, we need to pay a price. Let’s take the case of your phone connection, if you want it to be always available, you need to pay the telephone company which provides the services. As long as you pay your bills, the connection remains; else it’s cut off. So it is with God, the only difference being, you need to pay in goodness to be with God. When you do good, you get God. And as long as you keep doing good, God is with you.”

Isn’t it why Sri Adi Sankara preached “Kuru Punyam Ahoratram”; do good day and night. Not the day alone but night also, so that you can be with God, day and night, always.

 UGADI, MARCH 25, 2020

All be happy, all be healthy. Nobody should have any sorrow. That should be the prayer on every lip today. Every moment is a happy moment for the one who has happiness inside. So much of what you make of this year depends on what you become, what you are. And that is most important. Whatever life throws at us – accepting all with equal attitude, that should be the effort that one has to put in the beginning of this year and that alone will help us survive this year. Whether year is good for you or not, it is up to you not up to the year. The focus that all the devotees, all the students, teachers, staff, everybody should have is, what is that I can do good from today onwards?

These three things our devotees should not engage in. Don’t smoke, don’t drink alcohol, don’t eat non-vegetarian food – meat. This new year should teach us that all those old, dead habits must go. Ask this question today. What can I do to be a better human being? How can I be of help to others not of any harm because of my habits, my ways? That is the most important thing that we must do at the beginning of this year. Some devotees....

 MARCH 19, 2020

How much ever it is told in a sweet, nice way, man has this typical arrogance of not paying attention to good things. But when a hard blow is dealt, then everybody sits up and listens. That is the situation that the world is finding itself in. I just met a few devotees. They were all worried. And then I said, see, it is a cycle of life. And it will go on and on. It is time to think how we are living. Are we living in the right way? “Give up the company of bad people.” Bad people means those who do not follow the Dharmic path, the true right path. What is Dharma? To do good is Dharma. Join the company of the good, who are doing good to the world. Night and day do good deeds. Always be mindful, remind yourself of what is real and what is unreal, what is permanent and what is impermanent.  This is what is going to help us live as better human beings in this world. That is what will make us deserving of a place on this planet earth. So that is what the whole thing is being driven to. You learn it well when it is being told nicely or else you have to go through a hard lesson. Now we are going through a hard lesson.

I was told that many people are contemplating vegetarianism. Gone are the days you lived in caves and hunted animals. Everything has changed – the way we dress, we move around, we stay, we do our things has all changed. Then why animals should be killed for our food. There are better ways to have food. So why don’t we contemplate on some better....

The Divine Mother and Child Health Program - A Preventive Care Initiative of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Centres for Child Heart Care, started the screening of government school children  in Chikkaballapur District, Karnataka in June 2018 in collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi University for Health Sciences. As part of the community medicine postings, Final Year MBBS students of the colleges affiliated to the University participate in this programme every month, and screen children from government schools as per the guidelines of Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram(RBSK).

So far, close to 40,000 children have been comprehensively screened, and the teams have identified around 1,000 children with various anomalies for further follow up. The programme has also given an opportunity to 500 budding medical professionals to understand the healthcare delivery system in rural India.

Understanding the impact the programme has had on the rural school children, and on the medical students who have participated in the monthly screening sessions, Rajiv Gandhi University for Health Sciences expressed its interest to make DMCHP, a flagship programme of the University. This was announced by the Vice Chancellor of RGUHS, Shri Dr Sacchidanand in the presence of Shri C Sreenivas, Chairman, Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust at an Awards function, at the University.

A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between RGUHS and Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals to expand the programme to the other districtsof Karnataka, where RGUHS has a presence.
