Congrats to Jil DeMasi and the Team at the Essex Regional Educational Services Commission!
We're happy to announce that we've awarded our first monthly EdTech grant of 2021! January's grant has been awarded to Jil DeMasi, who works as an administrator within the Essex Regional Educational Services Commission in Fairfield, NJ. She works to provide students in the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center with equitable access to innovative resources and opportunities that will help them develop relevant STEM skills. She's also helped launch a robotics program for these students and we're excited for the opportunity to contribute to enhancing those initiatives!
As part of their STEM efforts, Jil is hoping to solidify the program's offering of working with robotics tools from construction to competition. She's also determined to provide opportunities for the students she works with to increase their motivation through new and exciting hands-on activities. To that end, we'll be providing Jil and her students with some Hummingbird and Sphero robotics tools as they engage in authentic STEM learning and build some key real-world skills. We thankJil for applying for our grant and, once again, congratulate her on being selected! If you'd like to apply for our February grant, the application is now open and can be found below!
