Let's Talk It Out 2015!

FDR Week is launched. Designed to promote better use of family dispute resolution processes, the week includes free public forums across the province; replica "Family Law Information Centres" at Toronto City Hall and elsewhere; a professional access to justice forum at the Law Society of Upper Canada; a mediation-arbitration workshop; public events at libraries; professional networking events; and much more. Presenters & Volunteers needed for this week of outstanding opportunity for FDR professionals to meet each other and the public, learn from each other and help grow FDR everywhere.

What are we up to?

Custody and Access Assessment Task Force: FDRIO is participating in this TAG  Action Group on Access to Justice  project to improve the ability of assessors to help families in need.

CLEO Shared Steps Project: FDRIO is participating in Community Legal Education Ontario's leading-edge project designed to enhance public access to family law and FDR information online. 

FDRIO Draft Standards of Practice: we believe that basic standards of practice can and should apply to all professionals providing FDR services. Here are our draft standards of practice. We welcome your comments!

Trainers' Forum: On December 3 we are bringing together trainers from all FDR fields--- mediation, arbitration, parenting coordination, elder mediation, coaching, early neutral information, mediation-arbitration--- for a day of discussion about how we can harmonize and standardize our professional training. All FDR Trainers are welcome to this free event.
