Can Vitamin A supplements help improve child survival?
About 6.9 million children younger than 5 years die every year worldwide; 43% of these deaths occur within the first 4 weeks of life; the neonatal period. India is one of the countries that is worst off - a quarter of all neonatal deaths in the world occur in India alone. In a study, recently published in The Lancet, Jose Martines and several other CISMAC researchers look at the efficacy of supplementing Vitamin A to newborns in India. Read more here.

CVDNOR: Mapping the cardiac health of the Norwegians
For a long time, Norway was the only Nordic country without a national cardiovascular registry. Therefore, researchers at the University of Bergen have been collecting data on hundreds of thousands of Norwegians who have been hospitalized with cardiovascular disease after 1994. Now they use the database to give Norwegians a better overview of the state of the country within cardiovascular disease. Read more and see videos from other researchers here.
