<<First Name>>,
As the year comes to an end, please consider supporting the African Library Project one last time in 2022 as you think about organizations that do great work. Donations can make a great gift too. You can make a donation "IN HONOR OF" or "IN MEMORY OF" a loved one to give a gift that spreads the joy of reading. When you donate online, an email receipt is sent immediately to your email, which you can include in your card.
We are thankful for the support of the entire ALP community that helps in delivering on our mission. We're still building up back to our pre-pandemic numbers of donated books and new libraries created, however our impact continues to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands more young people with every new library created (see our 2021 impact here). We have two more shipments to account for in 2022, yet so far our community has shipped 198,822 donated books and created 182 new libraries within four countries in sub-Saharan Africa. We hope that you continue your support with us as we plan to exceed 4,000 total libraries and 4 million donated books in 2023!

In 2023, the African Library Project also looks forward to hosting its first in-person Partner Summit since the pandemic (View photos from the last in-person Summit here). The Summit will take place in Kenya and be hosted by our Partners there, Rongo University and Kibabii University. This event is a huge endeavor to our organization as we cover the cost for our Partners' travel expenses to attend. This year we held two virtual Summits in replace of an in-person event, but virtual events do not come close to replacing the monumental impact that an in-person event has on bringing our Partners and volunteers together. This event offers a forum to discuss, share and collaborate on best practices and challenges, and is a crucial practice in creating, sustaining and improving ALP libraries. Your donation will support this impactful and highly anticipated event amongst our Partners.
