Update From the Field!

Hello from Ireland! There is so much to update you with but first I just want to say thank you so much for your prayers and support! Thank you for caring about the gospel ministry to Ireland!

Crosslands Seminary-
In September I began the new term for year 2 in Seminary. Crosslands has officially launched their Dublin Hub and we had apporx 20 students from Ireland and Europe. My Tutor group meets in the West of Ireland, where I am serving.

I recently led a leadership training for my church's Children's ministry and was really excited to share my passion for teaching children the word of God. At the same time, we had a team from Australia here to learn about Ireland and our Church and they sat in on my training. It was encouraging for me, as several of the team members were involved in Children's Ministry back in Austrailia and were planning to take what they learned back to their church.

I have continued to meet with and study the Bible with Ruby. Please keep her in your prayers. She has really grown and is hungry for the Word. Every month we choose a book from the bible to read together. Last month we read 1&2 Timothy and Jude. I asked Ruby what the Lord was teaching her and she said, "I know the Lord really doesn't want me to listen to false teachers because he keeps repeating it!" It has been a joy to watch Ruby grow in her faith. She also recently hosted a get together at her home and opened up the word and shared encouragement from it. That was huge for her, and a powerful testimony coming from an Irish local!
When my cooking class ended I started to volunteer at the local meals on wheels kitchen. This has been a great connection to the community. Soon I will be able to deliver the meals to the homes.
I have spent the last 4 months working hard on getting my Irish Drivers Licence. This was a huge hurdle to overcome. The Irish Theory test and the road test are much more difficult than in the states. I was also required to take 12 hours of driving lessons. This seemed to take up much of my free time. However, while I was waiting for my road test I was not able to drive my car, so I had to use public transportation.  I found this really helpful in evangelism and learning the culture. Sean the Taxi driver heard the gospel from me many times and has actually softened to it with each time.
Recently I took the bus to Galway to meet up with familiar faces and had the best day exploring the city with Mr. & Mrs. G! That was a great encouragement from the Lord!

Prayer Requests-

  • Unity in team life
  • God's word to go forth in Ballina powerfully
  • Pray for Margaret and James who recently started to come to church out of curiosity, which is really rare in Ireland
  • Pray for Sean the taxi driver
  • Ruby and her spiritual growth
  • Me in my studies and work/life balance
  • Please pray this verse for me:
" And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,  so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God." Col 1:9-10

Thank you so much!!

Love from Ireland
