Free fun fitness and sport sessions for children
The Queen Edith's Community Forum has secured funding from Sport England to run five weeks of free fun fitness and sport sessions for children over the summer holidays at Nightingale Park. The sessions will be delivered by Bruno, Ash and Patrick who are all sports coaches at a local secondary school.
Who can take part?
Any children aged 5 to 16.
When are the sessions?
When do the sessions start?
- 5 to 11 years: 10am to 11am, Mondays and Fridays
- 11 to 16 years: 11am to 12pm, Mondays and Fridays
This Monday (27 July) – meet by the Nightingale Park 'pavilion'.
Do we need to book?
No, just turn up on the day. We are limited to 20 children per session, on a first-come first-served basis, so if we are over-subscribed we will have to turn people away – apologies in advance if that happens. We ask that a responsible adult stays with children attending the 5 to 11 class.
All activities will be organised with COVID-19 safety in mind. We will be recording names and contact details of the families attending each session, these details will be destroyed after 21 days. Children must not attend if unwell.
We hope this will be a welcome addition to the local activities on offer during the holidays!
