Ray Villafane Sand Sculpture Receives Global Attention
Carefree Continues to Enhance Visitor Traffic Through Visual Arts

Thank you to our residents and visitors from all over the country who have taken the time to watch renowned artists Ray Villafane and Sue Beatrice complete this 24 ton masterpiece over a 14 day period. The media attention was overwhelming including PHOENIX Magazine voting Ray as Artist of the Month for July as well as numerous blogs and local TV such as Cory McCloskey from Fox 10 capturing the transformation. Residents have been overwhelmingly positive with the visual arts the Town has been offering and they have asked for more! The Enchanted Pumpkin Garden will be bigger and better this year CarefreePumpkinGarden Postcards have been created to remember the sand masterpiece and will be available to purchase from local outlets. Visit Chessie Trunkston (elephant) and Hershel Higginbottom (mouse) along with the Owl and her owlets, available to view for free through Labor Day, September 5 in the Gardens.

High quality art and entertainment will continue to be available in the Gardens this year! Mark your calendar and check back for updates during the season!

SANDERSON LINCOLN PAVILION

Town of Carefree ENCHANTED PUMPKIN GARDEN IS BACK FOR 2016 and will be bigger and better! Rated as one of the Best Things To Do in the Valley by Phoenix Magazine the exhibit will feature NEW edgy and friendly life-sized Scarecrows handcrafted by Ray, an enhanced pumpkin village, a pumpkin patch, along with Ray Villafane carving on the weekends along with his team of carvers from all over the world. CAFE BINK in Carefree Remains OPEN and is NOT Moving! Yes, Binkley's Restaurant has moved out of Cave Creek but Kevin's CAFE BINK in Carefree will remain OPEN. Donna, Manager of Cafe Bink, has assured the Town that they plan on continuing to serve residents and visitors for as long as they will have them! "101 COOL THINGS TO DO"

Featured in the Valley Guide Magazine as one of the "101 Cool Things To Do" in the Valley is the Kiwanis Splash Park, located in the Carefree Desert Gardens. Last fall, the local Carefree Club of Kiwanis generously donated the funds so that local families and their children could have a place to escape the heat while enjoying the surrounding views in Carefree.

The market will be back in full swing as of Friday, October 7 from 8 am - 1 pm located at the Carefree Sundial in the Desert Gardens.
