#6c. Brewer Pool Swimming for Brothers (Sundays)
|
|
Every Sunday this Winter, we will be renting the City of Ottawa Brewer pool for children, youth, and men to enjoy swimming in a safe environment. This program is catered to boys and men of all ages with special accomodations such as all life guards and instructors during the swimming sessions being males.
The weekly swimming sessions are organized by AMA Youth to create an Islamic and safe environment sensitive to the cultural and religious practices of Muslims. And it’s also an amazing opportunity to have some fun!
This is recreational swimming. We will not be providing training of any kind. Furthermore, fathers must be in the water with their kids below 10 years old at all times for safety reasons.

#10. AMA Counselling Clinic
|
|
To help our community to rebuild and recover from impacts of COVID-19, AMA Centre has launched a Counselling Clinic as part of the Resilient Communities Fund from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). We work with trained Psychotherapists who integrate evidence based interventions (CBT, DBT, EFT, etc) in their client centred therapeutic approach, thus providing top-level care and service to clients.
We currently offer appointments at select hours on Mondays and Thursdays. To book an appointment, please email counselling@amacentre.ca.
We would like to thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their support to help us create programs and systems to help our congregants and community to regain autonomy and self-sufficiency.

La Leche League are experienced in breastfeeding and are familiar with the research and current findings dealing with breastfeeding.
La Leche League conducts a series of casual, discussion-style meetings that cover the practical, physical, and psychological aspects of nursing, offering encouragement and suggestions.
