Brantley Gilbert and wife Amber are celebrating the birth of their second child Braylen Hendrix Gilbert. Big brother Barrett (born Nov. 11, 2017) joined mom and dad to welcome the beautiful baby girl at Athens, Georgia’s Piedmont Hospital, yesterday afternoon (Sept. 9, 2019) weighing 6 lbs., 7 oz. and measuring 19 ½ inches in length.

Now we know why Brad's sitting the CMAs out this year, he's saving his comedic chops for some really BIG/ground-breaking endeavors via The Hollywood Reporter: "Brad Paisley is ready for his Larry Sanders moment. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter is set to star in and exec produce TV comedy Fish Out of Water, which has landed at Amazon with a script commitment following a multiple-outlet bidding war. The comedy is described as a Larry Sanders take on celebrity vanity projects and a behind-the-scenes look at country music star Paisley's struggle to keep a simple little fishing show from turning into his own personal Frye Festival.

The Grand Ole Opry® will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Country Cares for St. Jude Kids® during a special show Wednesday, September 18th as part of the Opry’s series of fall Wednesday shows that will run through October 30th. Artists scheduled to perform on the Opry’s Country Cares for St. Jude Kids show include Bobby Bones, Chris Janson, Dailey & Vincent, High Valley and Michael Ray. Since its inception in 1989, Country Cares has pioneered radio philanthropic fundraising, raising a record more than $800 million for the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: Finding cures. Saving children.® Throughout the show, photos and videos of inspirational moments from Country Cares for St. Jude Kids® will be shared, and a St. Jude patient will take the stage as a special guest announcer for the night.

The Academy of Country Music® announced  that the 55TH ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS Country Music’s Party of the Year®, will broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at 8 PM ET/delayed PT on CBS. The Academy is also announcing the return of marquee ACM Party for a Cause® events benefitting ACM Lifting Lives® on Saturday, April 4th, including the return of ACM Lifting Lives Topgolf Tee-Off with guest hosts Rascal Flatts and Darius Rucker, plus performances from some of the hottest new names in country music and the newly created Saturday night concert event, the ACM Beach Bash Presented by Dr Pepper at Mandalay Bay Beach with performances by reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban and 11-time ACM Award-winning trio Lady Antebellum, and more to be announced. Creative Artists Agency (CAA) hosted its second annual application-only networking and professional development summit, THE HUBB, designed to provide diverse internship- and career-ready college students with the tools and resources needed to successfully enter the music business. The event played host to 30 students from 26 universities, including Berklee College of Music, Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, Miami University, Morehouse College, Purdue University, Spelman College, University of California at Berkeley, University of California at Los Angeles, University of Georgia, and Villanova University, among others, at CAA’s Nashville office on Sunday/Monday. THE HUBB participants had the opportunity to learn from and meet with key executives representing a variety of sectors within the industry, including label operations, business management, A&R, publishing, marketing, artist management, touring, and live production.  Recruiters also led workshops, providing attendees with insights into the tools and skills needed in today’s job market. Among the participating industry leaders were special guests Little Big Town, CEO of Universal Music Group Nashville Mike Dungan; EVP of Universal Music Group Radio Promotion Royce Risser; CAA Nashville Co-Founder John Huie; CAA Agents Sabrina Butera, Katie Germano, Lindsey Myers, Joe Harris, and Meredith Jones; CEO of Tri-Star Entertainment Lou Taylor; Executive Director at IEBA Pam Matthews; Nashville Head of A&R, Prescription Songs Katie Fagan; Apple Music - Country Music Programming & Editorial Madison Hanten; Loeb & Loeb Associate Farrah Usmani; Safford Motley’s Scott Safford; Earth, Wind, & Fire Tour Accountant David Norman; and the event’s namesake, Barbara “Mother” Hubbard. As part of the event, THE HUBB, in partnership with IEBA, announced the launch of THE HUBB 2020 Summer Internship Scholarship Program. Designed to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students with internships in the music industry, the program will award a $2,000 scholarship to three qualified individual applicants, selected on the basis of their demonstrated commitment to community service, recognitions and accomplishments, and career interests and professional growth goals.

AFTER PARTY

SESAC and ASCAP and a host of music industry friends and family packed The Sutler on Monday, Sept. 9, to celebrate the success of Curb recording artist and SESAC songwriter Lee Brice’s 6th #1 single, “Rumor.” Co-writers on the song include ASCAP songwriters Ashley Gorley and Kyle JacobsBrice and Jacobs were also producers on “Rumor,” and joined Dan Frizsell and Jon Stone to produce the song, which hit the top of the country charts after 43 weeks. “Rumor” was RIAA certified platinum two weeks after the song hit #1 and has received over 300 million streams worldwide. It’s also the highest charting song of Brice’s career, peaking at 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. On hand to honor the group was
