ON THE HOUSE

So I'm spending the next two weeks on the West Coast, in Northern California wine country. I might take a few days off here or there to recharge. Also, keeping an eye out for some shows in my neck of the woods. Noticed Luke Bryan's tour with Cole Swindell and Jon Langston aka the "Kerri Edwards Tour" is playing nearby on Friday/Saturday, so I'm contemplating grabbing some gal-pals and heading to both shows...we'll see if I can make it out of the comforts of Sonoma...keep ya posted.

FRONT OF THE HOUSE

It's been a few days but I'm still thinking about Riley Green. Two weekends in a row I've gotten to watch him perform, opening on Brad Paisley's tour, and both times the venue was absolutely packed for Riley. I've been to a lot of shows and most of the time, at 7 p.m., when the opener takes the stage, the place is half-full. It really feels like fans are investing in Riley on the ground-floor. If there's one act in this slot who I really think has superstar potential - it's Riley.

TAILGATE WATCH

Country Music Hall of Fame group ALABAMA is postponing the remainder of its "50th Anniversary Tour" due to lead singer Randy Owen's ongoing complications with cluster migraines and vertigo. The group had hoped to continue its record-breaking 50-city tour, however, doctors have advised more time is needed for Owen to fully recover. Today, ALABAMA bass player and vocalist Teddy Gentry released the following statement:"The '50th Anniversary Tour' has been very special to us. The support of the fans and their energy at all of our shows has led to some of the most fun we've ever had onstage. As disappointed as myself, Randy, and Jeff are to have to postpone this tour for all of our incredible fans, we know that Randy's recovery is what is most important for everyone at this time. We would like to thank our fans, promoters, and venues and we look forward to seeing you all soon." Rescheduled dates for the tour will be announced in the coming weeks.

AT THE BAR

Despite storms looming on the horizon, the final evening of Rooftop on the Row for the 2019 summer season was packed with guests eager to hear from rising Country music acts Gone West and Mitchell Tenpenny. Long-time friends and co-writers Colbie Caillat, Justin Young, Jason Reeves, and Nelly Joy kicked off the night with their band, Gone West. The pair of married couples showed off their feel-good harmonies with a set including their self-titled track “Gone West” and a throwback performance of “Realize” from Caillat’s debut album, Coco. Mitchell Tenpenny closed out the series just before the rain hit with performances of his debut album title-track “Telling All My Secrets” and Number One hit “Drunk Me.”

BUZZIN

Name check your crew. Crank the volume. Ice down booze. Mayhem or memories you choose. YesTHE CADILLAC THREE have “All The Makin’s Of A Saturday Night” with a new anthem just in time for the start of College Football season. The Nashville natives with a global following have an instinctive musical vibe that has mixed grit, electricity and friendship since their high school days. Beginning August 24th, ESPN and ABC will highlight “All The Makin’s Of A Saturday Night” on College Football broadcasts this season.

NEAT

Excited to be the first to share this tidbit with ya'll today, Warehouse West Entertainment has signed Virginia-singer/songwriter Maggie Miles, to a deal that includes publishing, development, and management services. Maggie is planning to move to Nashville in a few weeks. This is the first deal Warehouse West has done that includes artist management. Warehouse West co-founder Bruce Gates, who's music venue, Pearl Street Warehouse, is in my backyard of DC, shared with me that he discovered the 20-year old talent when she performed at Pearl Street. He was literally walking through the venue by happen stance as she was on stage, heard her, did a double-take, ended up watching the whole set and immediately sent a clip to his creative team, and the rest, as they say, is history. Something out of a TV show but really cool and I can't wait to see Maggie up-close!

ALL ACCESS

Tuesday night, songwriters Nicolle GalyonRodney Clawson and Brad Clawson took the stage at the CMA Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for "Family Behind the Songs," where each shared the stories behind some of their chart-topping hits. Joining them on stage for this intimate songwriters round were Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard, fellow songwriter Ashley Gorley and newcomer Madison Kozak. In addition, Visual Artist Sydney Clawson also created a mixed media painting on stage during the evening.

BACKSTAGE PASS

Leading independent music publishing and management company, Creative Nation, is proud to announce the addition of new songwriter, Travis Wood, to their roster.  Wood is an award-winning songwriter and musician, best known for penning consecutive hit singles for the James Barker Band, including "Good Together," "There's A Drink For That," and "Keep It Simple," the latter of which hit #1 at Canadian Country Radio this year. After quickly writing a slew of ratio hits in Canada, totaling three #1s, 16 top 10s and 10 Certified Gold singles, Wood made the move to Nashville to expand his presence.
