CHEERS

Jake Owen was presented with the "Randy Owen Angels Among Us" award in recognition of his record of volunteer service supporting the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's Country Cares initiative - which celebrated 30 years on Saturday night in Memphis!

TOP SHELF

Randy Owen, Clint Black, Jake Owen, and Michael Ray headlined the "Country Cares" Songwriters' Dinner on Saturday night. This was one of the most organically emotional nights I've ever been a part of. There was so much to take in. Michael Ray was living his best-life admiring his musical heroes Randy Owen and Clint Black perform some of their favorite songs. It was clear that Randy was expecting the Jake and Michael to carry the signing load, but they had other plans, as the two teamed-up to sing one of Randy's hits in a magical moment that had Randy touched and very emotional. It was a remarkable display of respect and generosity that captured the entire spirit of our three days in Memphis. The evening culminated with Randy leading the entire room in a rendition of "Angels Among Us." If you get a chance, check out our featured #InstaStory capturing what it was like to experience this remarkable journey.

Bastian Baker won me over when he was opening last year for Shania Twain - so I couldn't be more excited to see him release this new song/video "So Low"

ON THE HOUSE

This was my first time getting to tour the "Target House" and it really shows how much thought the team at St. Jude has put into ensuring every element of the family unit is taken care of. The reality is when a child is diagnosed with cancer, it is something that impacts the very core of the family unit. The Target House is a place where families live while their child is in treatment. The contributions so many people and companies have made to this facility are remarkable. There's the Brad and Kimberly Paisley recreation room. Dreamwork's has a screening/TV room. Shaun White has a gaming-corner. Amy Grant has a room for musical therapy. It's a special place built to make such a scary and uncertain life situation a little bit more manageable with a touch of joy sprinkled in!

FRONT OF THE HOUSE

The St. Jude team with our group of country music media outlets/partners! Spent most of the three days hanging with this group. Says a lot about this community that so many in the media side of things are so willing to use their platforms to amplify the voices of those who are doing so much good for this amazing place where miracles live every single day!

Dan + Shay wrapped a sold-out UK headlining run at the famed O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London. The tour included stops in Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and Cambridge. AEG presented the multi-Platinum-selling, chart-topping pair with a plaque commemorating the accomplishment.

AT THE BAR

Great running into the dynamic duo Seaforth at a BBQ joint in Memphis. These two are amazing vocal talents and incredibly nice guys!

BAR TALK

BAR BITES

One of the highlights of the Country Cares Seminar is getting to catch-up with so many of my Nashville friends like BIG LOUD's Nikki Wood who was kind enough to invite me to a wonderful dinner on Friday night!

NEAT

The Academy of Country Music's Pete Fischer & ACM Lifting Lives' Lyndsay Cruz presented the St. Jude Chlidren's Research Hospital with a $50,000 donation in the name of Jake Owen to ALSAC's Rich Shadyac and Randy Owen

ALL ACCESS

Really touching moment when Randy Owen and his family was recognized for his 30 years of support of St. Jude with the dedication of a patient family room in their name.

BACKSTAGE PASS

AFTER PARTY

After the Songwriters Dinner event concluded, we went around the corner to experience, for the very first time, the music of BBR's newest band "King Calaway" - there is nothing like them in this format and I cannot wait to see how this band grows and develops. I'll tell you one thing that's for certain, these guys can flat-out sing. It's not just one guy singing while 5 others play instruments, they all rotate vocals and instruments throughout their show.
