Stir-Crazy -  Sold to a collector in Mississippi

Stan Kurth, NWS

Greetings  <<First Name>>,

Hope you are doing well and staying safe as we continue in these strange times.

Online Workshop:
In the last newsletter I mentioned something n the works, an online workshop. I'm happy to announce it is now open for enrollment here: https://learn.watermediaworkshops.com. This is a one day workshop on intuitive sketching with ink, watercolor and gouache, set to start on the morning of Friday September 4th. I'm limiting registration to 15 students in order to have a quality critique, which will be live via Zoom. All videos and documents in this workshop will be downloadable for students enrolled in the class. Even if you don't enroll in the workshop there are free previews and downloads for just signing up on my site. Enrollment is now open and I will not promote this workshop anywhere else for another 3 days. This is to give my newsletter subscribers first shot. And by the way, I sincerely appreciate you very much.

I also mentioned in the last newsletter I had started a special project, the "Revised" series, where I was working back into previous ink wash drawings from an entire sketchbook and adding color. I included some of those images in that newsletter as well. I've finished the project, revising all of the sketches in it. I've included them directly below and as before they are for sale, same price and size as the small daily paintings I've been doing for several years. These small daily paintings from the watercolor sketchbooks are $60, shipped anywhere in the United States. See details below under "Sketchbook".

Monoprint Edition Variation plus Gouache
I've mostly painted on square surfaces for the last couple of years. However when I make monotypes or monoprints, most of my plates are rectangular. I do have some square plates and of course I like them best. I have a file drawer full of prints and now and then I pull them out and see what I can do or not do. The piece, Greenhouse Effect was actually a vertical monoprint and I changed the orientation to horizontal. I went into the print with gouache. This works because I use Charbonnel water based ink for my prints. The original print was pulled from a collagraph plate a couple years ago, and recently revised with gouache.

Sketchbook

These color sketches are ink, watercolor and gouache. They are roughly 8 X 8 inches square on a 12 X 9 inch sheet in a Canson 140 lb Watercolor sketchbook, signed and dated right below the square. All of those posted here were available when this newsletter was sent. If you're interested in making a purchase please contact me here. ($60 shipped anywhere in the continental U.S.)

There are only six new sketches here because I've been working on the Revised project as seen above. The first six are new and the rest are being shown for the second time and still available.
