Institute workshops will begin this Monday and Wednesday February 13th and 15th, and continuing every week for the remainder of the Spring Semester. See you there!

“We will be working with local community groups, including schools, to build the foundation for ongoing efforts to combat obesity in the area through nutrition education, promoting more physical activity and create healthier environments, including community gardens,” said Annette Besnilian ... The center is partnering with CSUN’s Institute for Community Health and Wellbeing’s Neighborhood Partners in Action project in Canoga Park.

Spotlight on Institute Activities

Congratulations to our very own:
Josselyne Rivas
for being one out of the twenty students selected for the first class of the new Principal Community Scholars Program. 
The recipients were selected by the Iowa Campus Compact, and California Campus Compact after being nominated by faculty or staff from their university and after undergoing a rigorous review process.
Josselyne is a 5th year undergraduate student who is double majoring in Child and Adolescent Development and Journalism. She is currently the project coordinator for the Bridge to the Future Scholars Program.

Looking for a place to relax and study? The Santa Susana Courtyards are available for use!


Open use to the public. Please feel free to exchange books for your reading pleasure! Located in the North Courtyard of Santa Susana Hall.

Commit to Be Fit is a free fitness and wellness program led by CSUN Kinesiology students four nights per week. The workouts consist of functional cardiovascular and resistance training aimed to get you in shape and help you feel your best. The program is open to CSUN staff, faculty, and community members.

Fitness Program Monday through Thursday 5:30-6:20PM during the fall and spring semesters
