Recruiting the Next Class of Leaders!
Do you know someone who would make a great leader in our Mountain Community?  Talk to them about joining Leadership Evergreen!  We are excited to begin recruiting members of the class of 2022. Due to COVID-19, recruiting has been pushed back to run August-October, with a new class starting in April of 2021 rather than January.  We're updating our brochure to reflect all the new dates.

Class of 2017 Smokey Project Update

The Class of 2017 worked diligently to get the wildfire awareness signs built on Evergreen Parkway and Highway 285. Since that time, an accident occurred in which a truck hit the sign on Evergreen Parkway. This unfortunate event led to all elements of the sign being repaired or replaced. The stonework and foundation was repaired by Steven at Brook Forest Stone. The fire sign was replaced by Todd at Zuni Signs. Smokey the Bear, built by a company called Cascade Carvings based in Washington state, has yet to be replaced but this is in the works. The Rotary emblem disappeared and had to be replaced. The Leadership Evergreen emblem was not affected and will be placed back on the stonework with the Rotary emblem soon. This sign was funded by Rotary Club of Evergreen. The Class is grateful to all of the businesses involved with the initial build and this re-build that is on track to be completed by the end of summer.
Class of 2020 Virtual Graduation
On Thursday, May 28, an incredible graduation ceremony was held for the Class of 2020 via Zoom.  Each graduate received a lovely surprise package delivered to his/her home shortly before the start of the ceremony.  A cooler with refreshments and a gift certificate to a local restaurant was delivered, along with a beautifully framed certificate.  The graduating class and board members then gathered virtually to celebrate.  Congratulations Class of 2020!
The Class of 2020 is still trying to make their project a reality but has encountered difficulties due to COVID-19.  They are waiting on one last bid to install a water fountain in downtown Evergreen near DaVinci Realty. The Class of 2020 selected this project in an effort to cut down the use of single-use plastic water bottles, and to provide a more welcoming atmosphere to visitors to downtown Evergreen and their furry friends.

Leadership Evergreen offers participants opportunities to learn from and interact with our community, leaders, and organizations
to enhance and strengthen their leadership abilities with the goal of addressing issues that impact our mountain communities.
