We are Family Support Workers and we are here to help!
During the first part of the shutdown, our family support workers stayed in contact with members, offering phone support and referrals, and just being there to listen. We continue to be here to offer you support and help you find resources. Contact us via email to request a call-back. And, at the registered programs, you can connect with various staff there too. Exciting News! We are now offering private counselling sessions!
We are excited to announce that Krystle Sivorot, MC, RCC, will be offering her counselling services to ESFP members on Wednesdays.
With a warm presence and passionate energy, Krystle brings an attachment-based, strength-based, and client-centered approach to her counselling practice. Offering strong ethics rooted in an intersectional and anti-oppressive lens, Krystle believes healing and liberation are intertwined.
Krystle holds a Master’s degree in Counselling from City University with additional training in Dance/Movement Therapy and Synergetic Play Therapy. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Assoc. of Clinical Counsellors. Her work experience includes working with substance use issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, and emotional regulation. She currently works as a Clinical Counsellor at SHARE in the Tri-City area and Harbourside Family Counselling in Vancouver. You may recall that she facilitated our popular Calming the Self program last year at ESFP.
Her practice supports children, youth, and adults struggling with emotional challenges and encourages cultivating the wisdom of the body and mind. Krystle looks at supporting the whole family system to find new ways of deepening the relationship to self and others in the community. Her practice uses breath, movement, and mindfulness to deepen a connection to the body as a resource for wellbeing and nurturing joy. Krystle is thrilled to be walking alongside families in their journey to find healing and growth at Eastside Family Place.
We will offer 50 minute counselling appointments on Wednesdays. To find out more or to book a session, email Krystle. No cost for ESFP members ($20 per year/family).

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SIGNAL FOR HELP
The social isolation measures necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic are making it more difficult for those who are at risk of abuse or violence to safely reach out for help. “Signal for Help” is a simple one-handed sign someone can use on a video call. It can help a person silently show they need help and want someone to check in with them in a safe way. For more information on the Signal for Help, including tips on how to help someone if you see it on a call, please go to the Canadian Women's Foundation page. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 911.
