Dear friend of AKG,
Changing Course features two Colorado-based landscape painters whose works are inspired by moments witnessed, and their life's work is to depict that memory and feeling on canvas. Andy Taylor shows us in color and form the immense beauty – not of the iconic landscape – but of the details witnessed amongst that landscape. Peter Campbell looks at the larger vista, but captures the fleeting moments of nature's wonder, depicting the light, reflection, and dream-like perspective of light and shadow over a vast landscape. Both artists study their subject en plein air and paint from memory and observation, and together they share the awe and wonder that awaits the viewer whether taking a close look or taking it all in.
Today is the last day to view Changing Course before we begin the installation of Interpretations, a group exhibition on view March 31.
