WHAT'S UP

The recent finish I'm most tickled with is Modular, my latest Bee Sewcial quilt! These group quilts always feel hard-won. I think it's a combination of the fact that you are creating on behalf of other makers, the mix of improvisational expressions, and the puzzling, of course. But all in all, so very satisfying.

WORTH A READ

ROUND-UP

"Directions" is by Selbermacherin, a wonderful design combining a color gradient element and flying geese representing "our paths in life branch[ing] off in all directions." [selbermacherin]

This beauty from Katy/
KatyQuilts was made with string blocks composed of scraps from her dad’s shirts. The latest of several she's made for her family members, this one's finally for her. [katyquilts]

Matt/[odditease]'s distinctive pink and brown
#courthousecolourplay quilt was made extra special when he hand-quilted it with perle cotton.

Rachel/Stitched in Color has a way with both color and scraps. Love how she used them both in her Holiday Dottie quilt.

This stunner was Michelle/
[asheleybely]'s first original quilt design and first time paper piecing. Color me impressed!

ON TREND

You know I was anxiously waiting for the 2020 Pantone Color of the Year to be announced, since I've been creating quilts with the COTY for years. Looking forward to sewing with Classic Blue in the new year!

GOTTA LOVE IT!

Having made my own Patchwork Forest quilt a few years ago, I was tickled to see the Christmas tree pillowshams made by Sarah/
piccolo studio! She combined her own Patchwork Pillow Sham pattern with the Modern Christmas Tree block tutorial by Amy/Diary of a Quilter. Aren't they fun? [piccolostudio_sarah]
