Looking back, looking forward. After all the reflecting on last year and organizing for this year, our community seems to now be setting down to actually sew. I somehow timed it right and head into 2017 with just a couple of wips, so I don't feel too weighed down. Step by step, I'm working to get them done, and look forward to whatever is next, that which I do not know.....
My biggest sewing accomplishment in December was to make a set of Maker's Totes for my daughter and 6-year-od granddaughter. Bags aren't necessarily my comfort zone, but having made one Maker's tote before, I was pretty sure I could manage this duo. Noodlehead's patterns are always clear and so doable, especially when tackled one step at a time.
It was my own Crop Circles that really sparked my interest in quilts with circles. I was playing with the many uses of my Clammy ruler after first using it to make a clamshell quilt. Circles had been kind of scary before, but this quilt cured me, and now I'm thinking maybe another variation just might be in order.
