WHAT'S UP

TWO finished quilts to share! The first, Begonia, was created over the course of a year, a block-of-the-month with Seattle MQG....
And the second came together in just a few days. Inspired by a tutorial by Cluck Cluck Sew, it was so fun to be able to make this one completely from stash.

WORTH A READ

ROUND-UP

Love this sweet baby quilt, and Betty/[sewbettyjane]'s choice of fabric palette.
Krystina's post-holiday scrap-busting bug resulted in her finishing her beautifully scrappy plus quilt. And how fun to show it off in a snowstorm, right?
[khquilts]
Blue Diamonds, created by Cindy/Hyacinth Quilt Designs, is such an engaging combination of half-rectangle triangles, squares, and rectangles. Read all about it here. [clammon]
When a reader asked about her process, Émilie/[mili.tra] responded that she created her "Scales" using "improv with a purpose, but no sketch," with up-cycled fabric no less!
Elina/[elinatemmes] describes her "Cross in Paths" as "soft and boheme," evolving as she hand-quilted it. What a wonderful mix of fabric and color, don't you think?

ON TREND

Tis the season! I'm seeing heart projects right and left, and here are a few of my favorites! Check out this Giant Hand Crocheted Heart from Flax & Twine. I've never wished I crocheted more. [flaxandtwine]

Just look at these super darling striped heart pincushions by Pomada. She kindly shares the pattern for paper-piecing here, and you should see her post where she's also made a heart in blue. [saija_elina]
And then there's this You + Me mini from Samelia's Mum. SO cute! The pattern is from Ellis & Higgs, and I confess I bought it to make my own. [sameliasmum]

OFF TOPIC

Still thinking about Classic Blue! So I enjoyed How to Use Classic Blue - Pantone's Color of the Year by  Andrea Tsang Jackson on Craft Industry Alliance yet interested to also see PicMonkey Designers Pick Top Colors for 2020How to Use 2020 Pantone Color of the Year in Your Designs on Easil has some really good ideas, and if you're considering palettes using Classic Blue, go glance at this post by colorkuler.

GOTTA LOVE IT!

On the morning of February 1, when Laura/Vacilando Quilt Co. launched her PNW Collection, I watched her latest Instagram Story, and it really moved me. For one, living in the PNW as I do, I had been to many of the places she visited before, and knew their beauty for myself. Two, it was ages ago that she was here, inspired by what she saw, and the new collection evolved from there. For her to bring that collection back to the PNW for a photoshoot, I thought, was extra special. So check it all out - the story, the quilts and her words about them - and you'll get a feel for the part of the country I call home.

P.S. I could so relate with Steph/[stephskardal] and this post, and goodness, I love the end result!
