Santa J. Ono is in his fourth year as the president of the University of Cincinnati, which stands among the nation’s top 30 public research universities. Dr. Ono is − all in the same person − a scientist, cellist, thought leader, former research fellow and faculty member of Harvard and Johns Hopkins, an accomplished researcher in eye disease and a member of National Academy of Inventors as well as a CEO known for his social media presence. He created the hashtag “HottestCollegeinAmerica,” which has brought to UC greater community and greater recognition. Dr. Ono is a leader who is accessible and responsive to the university’s wide range of constituents, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and business, civic groups, the arts and government. Under his leadership, UC has achieved its largest enrollment in history at over 44,200, with three consecutive years of record enrollment. Looking to the future, he has launched Creating Our Third Century, a plan that is investing in the university’s greatest asset as it approaches its bicentennial – namely, faculty, students, staff and alumni.

Women 2 Women ~ Evening at The Candle Lab & Sundry and Vice

We’re gathering the women of Rotary together for another night of fun and fellowship on Tuesday, February 9, 2016. We’ll begin our evening at The Candle Lab (1325 Vine Street – 45202). There you’ll have the opportunity to pour your own candle, mixing any of the 120+ fragrance oils together to create your own custom candle. Their candles combine all natural soy-based wax, cotton paper wicks, and pure fragrance oils to make a long-lasting and pure-burning candle. They also offer custom mixed bath salts, room sprays, reed diffusers, fragrance oil, and wax tarts. Once our candles are complete, we’ll head over one block to Sundry and Vice (18 W. 13th Street – 45202), a turn-of-the-century apothecary-themed cocktail bar and gathering place, where we’ll enjoy dinner by the bite and partake of their excellent cocktails (cash bar). Both the Candle Lab and Sundry and Vice are located near Washington Park Garage (1230 Elm Street – 45202) so safe parking is conveniently located for both venues. We hope you can join us – and be sure to bring a friend, neighbor, or prospective member! Please click here for the sign-up form: Women 2 Women Event – Candle Lab
