The CZU Lightning Complex in the Santa Cruz Mountains has grown to more than 40,000 acres and continues to burn, resulting in the closure of many state parks and beaches in the region.

As of Wednesday, Aug. 20, these parks have been evacuated and closed:

Park staff and campers have been evacuated. Surrounding communities, including Boulder Creek, Ben Lomond, Felton, Bonny Doon and Davenport, also have been evacuated. This is the most-current evacuation map.

Road closures are in effect. Please be safe and avoid the area until further notice.

Big Basin Redwoods SP Update

Big Basin Redwoods State Park sustained extensive damage on Tuesday from the CZU August Lightning Complex Fires and is closed until further notice. The fire damaged the park’s headquarters, historic core and campgrounds, according to a statement by California State Parks. All campers, day-use visitors and State Parks staff at Little Basin and Big Basin were evacuated.
