This year brought local sustainability successes to celebrate, along with persistent global climate concerns. The threat of global warming is a reality with twelve of the hottest days in recorded history in 2018. We also saw extreme storms. More than half of the global annual rainfall drenched our planet in just 12 days. The overall gage, carbon dioxide emissions, rose by 2.7% with ominous implications.

Today's good news is that our climate crisis is being met with individual strength and long-term vision.  In 2018 we saw more organizations than ever before commit to sustainability.

Many thanks to our clients for working to reduce their environmental impact. Among them, the sustainability achievements of the mega airports, convention centers, hospital systems, cities, and counties we serve have earned recognition nationwide. Locally, new and ongoing environmental policies and programs of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings are a foundation for community resiliency and smart growth.

We are encouraged by the innovation and resourcefulness that our clients show each day. This month, two ecoPreserve clients earned LEED Silver Certification: SESCO Lighting headquarters and Jacksonville Transit Authority.

As we look toward 2019, we find ourselves among more than 2,157 businesses and investors who are committed to climate actions. We have joined with the City of Orlando and 279 other municipalities to declare continued support for the Paris Climate Accord goals. If you wish to participate with us, let's talk! On behalf of our ecoPreserve Team, I wish you a wonderful holiday season and a very happy new year. We are excited to partner with you to make the world a better place in 2019 and many more years to come.

Sustainably yours,
