And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth.
This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost, marking the descent of the Holy Spirit on the disciples of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. Like the first disciples, we also have received the same saving gift of God the Holy Spirit, living within each of us as our inspiration and our guide.
After worship this Sunday there will be a congregational meeting to elect elders, deacons, nominating committee members and auditor. Following that we will have a special Pentecostal coffee hour and volunteer fair – get ideas for how you can connect and use your gifts here at PPC while enjoying delicious cultural finger foods and fellowship. We invite you to bring a food to share.
This Sunday will also be the final Sunday school class for Youth (grades 6–12) before breaking for summer. Godly Play and up through grade 5 will continue lessons through the summer.
