2016 news

It has been a whole twelve months since we sent out our last newsletter - where did it go? There is a new, talented member of our office in West Dulwich, we've overhauled our website (more pictures!), and our completed projects are picking up award nominations! Some nice things to celebrate for the coming year...

New website launched

We're pleased to announce that our website overhaul is now complete! The lovely people at &agency have created us a stunning online gallery to display our latest work, and to archive all our older projects & news articles. The website is live and ready for you to take a peek and see what we've been up to:

Upland Road long-listed for design awards

Our transformation of a Victorian house in East Dulwich finished on site last summer. We're thrilled with the result, as are our wonderful clients, and everyone else who has visited since. The project is receiving wider recognition too: we've been longlisted for the Don't Move Improve Awards and nominated for the LABC Awards 2016. We're delighted that the scheme is now also included in a New London Architecture exhibition at the Building Centre until March 2016. Do go have a look!

Meet Rita, our new recruit!

In October 2015, Rita Farrell joined us as an architectural assistant. She has thrown herself into work at the practice, assisting on all aspects of our projects.

Rita has just enrolled for her Part 3 qualification at the University of Westminster, and we're very happy to be supporting her through this last stage of her training. Out of hours, Rita is an internationally renowned musician, playing the Uilleann pipes at regular gigs in and around London.

Success under new planning policies

Planning permission is one of the stickiest issues in getting interesting new projects built. A raft of new legislation in the London boroughs hasn't made this any easier! Fortunately our track record of success is strong, even for complex projects.

In July, we gained permission for a full basement excavation in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, under tough new basement planning legislation.

New projects for 2016

The reputation of our work is growing, with referrals and
recommendations accounting for almost all of our new projects.

Our latest commissions include the challenging transformation of a 1970's chalet bungalow in Eltham, an annexe to a substantial Victorian property in Beckenham, and most recently the full refurbishment of a stunning 1968 terraced house on Sydenham Hill overlooking the city. And there's plenty more to come.

From our offices in South London, we work on projects across South East England. We're always happy to have a chat to assess your needs, so if you have a seed of a project or are seeking advice, do get in touch.
