Best-selling author & College of Education scholarship donor James Patterson will deliver tomorrow's commencement address for MSU. The public ceremony for all fall semester graduates gets underway at 7 p.m. at Humphrey Coliseum. Recently, Dr. Matthew Boggan, associate professor of Educational Leadership, attended the University Council on Educational Administration (UCEA) Conference in San Diego, CA. UCEA is the premier conference for Educational Leaders and Principal Preparation Programs. Dr. Boggan toured E3 Civic High School which is located in the San Diego Library and is the only high school in the United States that is located inside a library. The Executive Director, Dr. Helen Griffith, was born in Newton, MS.

Meet the Staff
 
Christa King- Coordinator for the Promise Student Support program and an instructor in the College of Education. Hailing from Grenada, Mississippi, King received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Delta State University and a master's degree in curriculum instruction from the University of Mississippi. She is also National Board Certified. King says,"The Learning Center is a valuable resource that can help students in their academic studies. We have tutoring, effective courses in to help them read at a collegiate level, and seminars to learn time management. As coordinator for the Promise Program, I see how driven these students are and that inspires me. It's exciting to watch them on their path to academic success." Interesting Fact: Mrs. King is a twin AND she has twins!
