Mississippi State University's Charles Templeton Ragtime Jazz Festival is comprised of a blend of major concerts, mini-concerts, seminars and tours of the Music Museum. Beginning today, seminars are held in Mitchell Memorial Library and major concerts are held at the McComas Hall Auditorium on the MSU Campus. IRB Lunch & Learn Rescheduled 

The IRB: Questions and Answers Lunch & Learn originally scheduled for tomorrow, April 1, is now scheduled for Thursday, April 14. Click here to RSVP. Faculty, staff, and personnel involved in research are encouraged to attend the luncheon as this Q&A will provide an opportunity to learn more about ethics, honor, and integrity while conducting research at MSU. This session will also be broadcast to the MSU-Meridian campus, available in the distance room.

First 'Educator Equity Lab' Hosted by Mississippi, U.S. Education Departments 


JACKSON, Miss.—The first "educator equity lab" that's designed to show how states can ensure equitable access to high-quality teachers across schools was hosted at Jackson State University in Jackson this week by the U.S. Department of Education and the Mississippi education department. Local participants included Dekota Cheatham, Outreach Coordinator, Teacher Education for Rural Mississippi, MSU CISE; Devon Brenner, Professor, MSU CISE; and Ginger Tedder, Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District. Read more...

Meet the Staff

Tawny McCleon Associate Professor / Director of Assessment, Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Foundations/School Psychology Services Center and the Assessment Lab Coordinator for the department. McCleon earned her B.S. in educational psychology from Alcorn State University, and later completed her graduate studies at MSU in which she earned a M.S. in school psychology/psychometry and a Ph.D. in educational psychology with an emphasis in school psychology (APA-accredited). McCleon completed her pre-doctoral training at Houston Independent School District in Houston, Texas (APA-accredited). McCleon is a nationally certified school psychologist, AAAA licensed school psychologist in the state of Mississippi, and a nationally certified PREPaRE school crisis trainer. McCleon is also currently serving a second term as President of the Mississippi Association for Psychology in the Schools. Interesting Fact: McCleon enjoys collecting and restoring antique furniture.
