Grand Opening performance by Katie Dahl and Rich Higdon

Dear Friends,

What an exciting time it is for us at Write On!

Despite the strangeness of these times, so many paths are coming together for us at Write On, Door County and we are absolutely delighted to share good news with you, our friends and supporters.

First, and most excitedly, we are looking forward to welcoming our members and supporters to our Writing Center this August. With safety and social distance in mind, we invite you to join us on August 15 to take a tour of the space, hear from writers, celebrate a newly published volume of poetry from the Poets Collective, enjoy the music of Katie Dahl and Rich Higdon, and toast with champagne! RSVP above.

Secondly, we are gratified to present two new virtual programs to you: our monthly Craft of Writing Series, and our new International Lamplight Residency. Our Craft of Writing Series will feature a new genre and author team each month for three virtual workshops. To see the monthly line up, CLICK HERE. Below, you'll find registration information for August's workshop with Rebecca Makkai and Peter Geye. Our Lamplight Residency is partnership with Varuna, The National Writer's House in New South Wales, Australia. CLICK HERE to learn more.

Finally, we're pleased to have author Ted O'Connell with us on July 15th for a 6:00 Reading from his novel K and on July 16th for a Fiction Writing Class

There's so much to be grateful for, and we are most grateful to you, our friends and our donors. Stay in touch, and we look forward to seeing you on the 15th!

Each month, Write On is pleased to bring you a new, online 3-workshop series. In August, we are so thrilled to bring you two award-winning novelists, Rebecca Makkai and Peter Geye

A compelling plot and high aesthetic value are not mutually exclusive. Are you good at writing sentences but terrible at plot? Are you hoping to write a thriller but would like to up your literary game? This workshop is for both types of writer and everyone in between. Drawing on real-time examples from his debut novel, K, Ted O’Connell will offer helpful tips on writing fiction that has the drive of a John Grisham book and the elegance of a Virginia Woolf novel.

Tuition for the three-hour class is $60. Write On members receive a 10% discount. To register for this class online, please click here. For other registration options, please call 920.868.1457. To become a member, please click here.
