The A27

Mark McFadden the portfolio holder for Transport and Infrastructure has provided an update on the A27. It is the position of this Chamber, and ACES (The Alliance of Chambers in East Sussex) that the current road limits the economic potential and future growth of our area. We cannot squander money on small 'improvements' which actually solve nothing and do further harm.

Congratulations to Lawson Lewis Blakers who yesterday celebrated their 140th anniversary of serving the people of Eastbourne. We've chosen to use a photo from the time they took part in 'MAD Tie Day'.

When speaking at the breakfast club this week, they reminded us of the time they were based above Barclay's bank, before a bomb hit them in World War 2. As a result, they still have slightly singed documents in their archives!

There's advice and support to local businesses including funding opportunities. The event will be opened by our local MP Caroline Ansell. To book, please phone Jackie on 01323 413 114.
