Because of the support of our members, we will award $73,000 in funding this year! You make everything we do possible! Thank you for standing with WFED and supporting our mission to enhance the quality of life on the western slope of El Dorado County.

We are pleased to announce our 2017 funding opportunities.

Our Community Focus Grant is open to all nonprofits serving the residents and communities of western slope El Dorado County. By design, the Grant does not have a specific focus, thereby inspiring nonprofits to identify and address our community’s most pressing needs. Applicants may apply for up to $27,500. (Total to be awarded $55,000)

Our Impact Grants are three smaller grants - up to $6,000 each in the following categories: (Total to be awarded $18,000)
  • Acorn Grants are for nonprofits that have never received a grant from Women’s Fund El Dorado;
  • Human Services Grants provide direct support of human needs;
  • Community Benefit Grants are for the arts, environment, community beautification, animal welfare, or community development.
Additional details and deadlines can be found on our website
CNF Recap
"Determining and Measuring Community Needs," our 2017 Community Needs Forum offered understanding and insight into nonprofit funding. El Dorado Community Foundation Executive Director, Bill Roby, shared his wisdom on current nonprofit funding, where "funding gaps" occur, and what WFED can do as a grant-maker to help fill these gaps. Bill concluded his presentation by noting that the most effective way for us to support our local nonprofit agencies is by asking them directly,"what do you need?" Thank you, Bill, for the time and energy you put into planning this educational presentation; in addition, thank you to our Education, Events and Membership Committees for collaborating and organizing such an enjoyable event.
