• Session will be assessing our Covid19 status in Nashville at their meeting in mid September and discuss our re-opening plans and possible date.
The guidelines to re-opening Southminster for face to face worship
will be sent to you each Thursday in September. Please review them frequently so that we will all have them memorized when we finally get to see each other.
• We look forward to the day when we can come together in community to worship, meanwhile we will continue to celebrate virtually each Sunday for worship.
• You were assigned Pastoral Care Partners. Have you been checking in with one another? You are encouraged to reach out weekly to your partner.
• We will need volunteers to help us clean the church building as we get closer to an opening date. Things like moving pew cushions, Bibles, and hymnals, wiping down the pews, and restocking protective gear. If you can donate one or a few hours, we can use your help. Call Rick Hollis at (615) 642-1071 or text Rick at email@example.com to volunteer.

Peace and World-wide Communion
The first Sunday in October is designated as World Communion Sunday, celebrating our oneness in Christ with all our brothers and sisters around the world.
Paul tells us that we are to “discern the body” of this large family when we partake of
Holy Communion, mindful of our relationship to all our brothers and sisters
in Christ in this celebration. (I Cor. 11:21).
Receiving the annual Peace and Global Witness Offering at this time is a way of continuing the ancient Christian practice of sharing what we have with brothers and sisters in need.
A gift to this offering enables the church to promote the Peace of Christ by addressing systems of conflict and injustice locally and around the world.
We hope to have a drive-through Communion at the church
on World Communion Day, October 4, and may have an option to bring your
Peace and Global Offering at that time.
Stay tuned for details.
