Maleny Commerce Newsletter - September 2019
From the President
Cold windy weather go away!! I suppose though in a month or two I will be complaining about the heat. Must say our winter days have been glorious and kept the visitors coming to our town. Winter is always a special time to visit the Hinterland, with open fires, great food and places of interest to visit.
This month we had Peter and Paul from Sunshine Coast Chamber Alliance attend our Executive meeting to share with us their Business Mentoring Program. All of the Executive agreed this to be a fantastic program for small business at a price that anyone can afford. Even some Executives signed up immediately after their meeting with us.
We were so impressed we have asked them to come and speak at our September Breakfast at Maleny Neighbourhood Centre. If you are in small business or know someone that is considering a startup this is a breakfast they should not miss.
Our other guest speaker will be Nooreen Harris from MNC. Nooreen has some exciting news to share also. It's going to be a good morning!
Our breakfasts are open to members as well as non-members please bring along friends that you think could benefit from any of our breakfast meetings.
We are currently working on a new entrance sign into Maleny. You may have noticed the old (falling down) sign has been removed from the high school grounds. The new sign will take some time as we have all the necessary red tape to work through and funding to source.
The Maleny Music Festival is on next weekend, please be patient on the roads as it's sure to attract thousands of people.
I'll put in my apologies as I won't be at the next breakfast, taking a holiday, so our Vice President Spencer Shaw will step in and host the breakfast. Don't forget to book your tickets, link below.
#lovemaleny!! Have a good month - Nicole
This campaign was a fabulous success with a lot of attention being placed on the businesses in our main street.
The Lucky Winner was Laura Rignault-Barnett collecting her $500 WIN. When asked what she will spend it on she advised it would be spent locally, keeping the funds local. She said "I enjoyed this campaign and want to keep doing it, it's such a great idea to support and promote our great local businesses". We think so too! Thanks for the great feedback Laura.
