Good Bye & Good Riddance 2020
Good bye 2020 ... I bet there is a lot of people and businesses that can't wait to say good riddance!
This will be my last Presidents report for 2020 and my second last altogether. I have advised the executive that I will not stand again next year for President and will leave the committee.
I've had 3 years as President and a total of 6 on the committee. It's time for someone else to step into the role. Change is always positive and I feel that there is someone out there that will bring their enthusiasm and ideas to the table. I have advised that I would still like to stay on the subcommittee for the Maleny Gift Card as that is where my heart lies. Our secretary Melissa Chaddock is also leaving and leaves a hole in the Secretary role, which fortunately is being filled by Clive Wearing who will join the executive at the February AGM, where both myself and Melissa step down. A big thank you to Melissa. She has been a wonderful Secretary to the Chamber and her input will be missed by the committee.
Our new Maleny entrance sign is in production. Cr Winston Johnston has funded this for our town and working with Paulette Steele from our executive and an external partner to get it placed as soon as possible giving us an official entrance to Maleny.
Paulette from our team is leading us in the Maleny Christmas Concert. All the musicians have been booked. Apex, Lions and Maleny Neighbourhood Centre are catering and Rotary are hosting the bar. Santa and Mrs Clause will be on hand for photos for a gold coin donation. Covid safe of course! BYO chair or picnic blanket, sure to be a wonderful night and great way to end the year. Hope to see you there, link for booking your tickets is below.
