Happening on The Hill

Over the past few months, I've been working to introduce legislation that would expedite the allocation of emergency relief funds to help our communities recover from natural disasters as quickly as possible. In November, the FEMA bill was passed through the Committee and will be up for consideration in the 2023 session so keep an eye out for updates!

The Votes Are In...

With Election Day in our rear-view mirror, we need to talk.

It is with a heavy heart, I announce that I was not elected to represent House District 27 in the upcoming legislative session.

We ran a strong campaign marked by honesty and integrity. However, the district that I currently represent is not the same district that I had to run in and defend both in geography and in spirit.

The biggest and most obvious detriment was the redistricting we are experiencing across the State. We are also seeing an emergence of identity politics, fear-mongering, and slanderous campaigning that Utah has been impervious to in previous years.

Even with everything working against us we did not make it easy on them, only falling short by 67 votes. All things considered, I take immense pride in the work we have put into this campaign.

To my campaign staff, volunteers, donors, family, and friends: Thank You. I could not have done this without you.

Serving in the Utah House has been one of my life's greatest honors and privileges. I am so grateful to all of you – you have guided and supported me every step of the way. I have made lifelong friendships and allegiances, that would not have occurred otherwise.

Keep Fighting the Good Fight, you have my love and admiration. As for me, I will be taking some time to regroup, rejuvenate, recreate and reinvent myself. I am not sure what new adventures await, but I know that when one door closes another opens.

Much love, Clare!
