A Letter From The Rector

St. Paul's Weekly Update

March 3, 2023

Dear Friends,

Join us this Sunday as we welcome the Rev. Nathan Kirkpatrick of Saison Consulting as guest homilist and presenter of our Adult Formation session entitled “Faithful Leadership in the Church and the World.”  Nathan is an Episcopal priest with a particular expertise in leadership development, guiding people to discover the values that guide our life and work.  You don’t want to miss being with us this Sunday.
As we journey through Lent, join us on Wednesday evenings in the chapel for a mid-week eucharist.
Next Friday, ASP will host its annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser.  Come on by for good food and fellowship.
ONE Wake annual meeting is next Thursday.  Details below.
Also hear about an opportunity to learn more about Men’s Beach Week.

Adult Formation
Lenten Wednesday Eucharist: 7:00 p.m.
This Lent, join the clergy for contemplative prayer services each Wednesday leading up to Holy Week (March 8, 15, 22, and 29).  We will use the readings for Lent as our guide and have ample time for meditation and reflection.
Services will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the St. Paul’s Chapel, just past the courtyard.  All are welcome.
 Easter Lily Donations
Donating an Easter Lily to decorate the altar and worship spaces on Easter Sunday is a beautiful way to remember or give thanks for the special people in our lives.  The Altar Guild requests a donation of $35.00 per plant; make checks payable to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, note Altar Guild Lily on the memo line; envelopes are in the pews.
All requests for Easter Lilies must be received by Sunday, March 26, for memorials to appear in the Easter bulletins.

Appalachia Service Project (ASP) Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

Please join us in the Parish Hall on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for a delicious spaghetti dinner (gluten free options available) cooked by our Men’s Group.  Show your support for our Youth Ministry’s trip to Appalachia, making houses warmer, safer, and drier in a transformative experience.
We will have raffles for gift baskets and opportunities for you to become shareholders in this amazing ministry. $5 for children, $8 for adults, $20 for families. Come and join the fun! Questions?  Contact Stephanie Hirschy at shirschy@yahoo.com
If you would like to be a part of this trip or the group that supports it, you can learn more on the St. Paul’s ASP webpage, or by contacting Kevin Swann at swann.kev@gmail.com.
