Hello St. Paul’s Youth

Hello to St. Paul’s youth and parents and everyone else involved:

Y’all have been very supportive and welcoming as I step into this role as the Youth Coordinator. I cannot wait to work with and meet everyone! This month will be full of fun, formative, and service-based events. We will be getting ready for the Appalachia Service Project (ASP) as well as St. Paul’s very own Vacation Bible Camp (VBC). Diocesan Events, Genesis and Happening, will be the last weekend of March. I am also excited that we will have EYC every week this month, highlighted by a youth trip to the Polar Ice House, to get some skating in. I hope to see everyone at any of these events this month.

March Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) highlights:

Sunday March 5th: EYC in the Youth Wing
Sunday, March 12th: EYC in the Youth Wing
Saturday, March 18th: Ice Skating at Polar Ice House! Please note the date and time change to Saturday instead of Sunday, and will be starting at 7:30 pm.
Sunday, March 26th: EYC in the Youth Wing

ASP Spaghetti Dinner - Friday March 10th

The ASP Spaghetti Dinner is 6:00-8:00 pm on March 10. All volunteers should arrive at 5 pm for setup in the Parish Hall. Check the SignUp to volunteer.

Helping with the dinner is a great way to learn more about the ASP Ministry here at St. Paul's. All youth may help with this wonderful ministry, whether or not you are planning to make the trip to Appalachia this June. All families are invited to come for a delicious dinner, too - bring your friends!

Genesis and Happening

Happening and Genesis are renewal weekends for the youth in high school and middle school, respectively. Discover more about yourself and your faith journey through games, talks and activities. This year, both events will take place concurrently on March 24-26 at Holy Comforter Church, Burlington, NC.

Genesis

Hermano Day

Sunday, March 19 is Hermano Day at St. Paul’s, when we recognize the sacrifice of our neighbors who do the hard work of planting and harvesting our food. One way the Farmworker Ministry here at St. Paul’s supports the work of the Episcopal Farmworker Ministry in

Newton Grove, NC, is by collecting donations of clothes and other items (see website for a list of most needed items) and presenting them on Hermano Day. Financial donations are always welcome. Contact Katie Bricio (katiebricio13@gmail.com) with any questions, or if you need to drop off donations before March 19.

Habitat for Humanity

Saturday, April 1, 2023 is St. Paul’s Day at the Habitat for Humanity Episcopal Build at Old Poole Place in Raleigh. We have pledged to provide at least 15 volunteers and lunch for the crew that day, working from approximately 8:00 am to 3:30 pm; will you be part of this great experience? Volunteers must be 16 years old.

Vacation Bible Camp

Vacation Bible Camp is coming back this summer! This summer VBC will be taking place of the week of Monday, June 26th to Friday, June 30th. We will need plenty of adult and youth volunteers. Please note that the deadline for registration is May 28th.

We could use some help covering our weekly meals and supervision for EYC gatherings. Parent volunteers provide dinner and supervision so that our Youth can have a safe environment for fun. We ask a parent from each household to volunteer at least once this spring. See the links below:
