"Living Life Mindfully"

With Dr. Collete Hoglund 
from the Magic Valley UU Fellowship

Mindfulness is present moment awareness without judgment. It is useful to learn how to be mindful since it can decrease our suffering in life and increase happiness and well-being.
This talk will explore these concepts and include a brief mindfulness meditation.

Collete Hoglund is a Clinical Psychologist at St. Luke's Behavioral
Health Services in Twin Falls.

What is a Skill Up?

This is a monthly series of trainings on organizing skills to help build our UU the Vote and Side with Love Volunteer Squads and help YOU build stronger teams in your congregation and community. We'll start the session with some spiritual fun and then launch into our training. This is also a chance to find out how to get more involved as a Side with Love volunteer and meet members of the Volunteer Squads.

(Adults and appropriate for youth 15-18)

Generally, our longer standing “RE” is crafted with older youth and adults in mind. Very interactive programming, with timely and relevant topics facilitated by members and friends.

Children’s RE is our program added this past fall, and generally is created with children 12 and under in mind.

EIGHTH PRINCIPLE
AND ANTI-OPPRESSION WORK IN POCATELLO
2nd and 4th Saturdays at 9:30-10:45 a.m.
We began in October and will continue into May. We are discussing the characteristics of White Supremacy Culture, what those are, how they serve or oppress, are these traits showing up in our lives especially our Fellowship — and if so, what to do about it?
It is OK if you have missed any or all prior sessions. We canceled several sessions due to unforeseen circumstances, so aren’t far along at all and will catch you up! Attend online only, via Zoom.

DEATH & DONUTS

Death affects everyone on many levels. This is an open forum for sharing thoughts and feelings about how we deal healthfully with attitudes about death and afterlife.  For in-person option, treats and beverages will be available.

Our Wednesday meditation group practices mindful meditation, a silent
sit for 30 minutes. All levels of experience and interest welcome, coming late or leaving early is okay.

WOW (Wellness on the Web) 
Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.
Our 7:00pm weekly WOW (Wellness on the Web) group explores topics of individual and societal wellness. Each week, recommended homework for the given topic is shared via our Google group, “Daily Online Gatherings PUUF.”

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)

A CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is a specially trained volunteer from the community who is appointed by the Court to represent the best interests of a child in court. The CASA helps insure that the child's right to a safe, permanent home is acted upon in a sensitive and expedient manner and that progress is being made to achieve permanency for the child.
