Nestled deep in the woods of Percy Quin State Park is a magical place called Candy Land. Candy Land is filled with lots of campers and counsellors that have gathered for the annual Junior Auxiliary Camp Sunshine. This year’s event is a day-time camp but that in no way diminishes the joy, excitement, and anticipation of the campers. Every day at Candy Land is a sweet, sweet time.
It has been my privilege to share the morning devotion at Camp Sunshine for several years now. It is something I Look forward to and I treasure each memorable moment. What’s more Miss Mattie and I get to share this time together. She says she is the Baptist song leader, and I am the Methodist preacher. Just let me say there is nothing sweeter than sharing time with Miss Mattie at Camp Sunshine! It’s an absolute joy to watch the campers gravitate toward her every morning – they want their Miss Mattie hug. Campers and counsellors alike want face-shots with Miss Mattie. She leaves an indelible mark on everyone’s lives as she smiles, sings, and loves with all her heart. For years now I have called her Saint Mattie of McComb. If ever there were a patron Saint for McComb it would be Miss Mattie Rials. All her life she has poured her heart and soul into this community in ways too many to count.
I am sure it’s going to be sweet times at Candy Land this year. Sweet times because Jesus is there bringing laughter and joy into the hearts of many folks through the life of Miss Mattie – ummm, Saint Mattie of McComb. She just might be the original Golden Girl too!!
Think About It…Connie
Dear CUMC family,
No amount of words can say "Thank You" for all you did for the celebration of Life for our Dad (Dr.Tom Carey). He loved Centenary, serving the people of Pike County,  and Mission trips near and far.
The food you provided for the family following the graveside service was over the top. We enjoyed your kindness as we fellowship.

In-Boarding = Wednesday July 20 @ 5:30 pm
What is In-Boarding?
It’s a question-and-answer session basically.  Your chance to ask any question you want – and get a clear and concise answer (We hope).

What kind of question can you ask?
Anything you want to know.  A bible question, a theology question, a question about Methodism or denominational politics, a question about our Church, our worship, our finances – there is nothing off limits.

Your Church is committed: to speak the truth in love, to be authentic, genuine, and real; and to be transparent in our decision making.  And we really, really love to answer questions (especially about the bible, but about other stuff too).

Submitting your question in advance is appreciated but not required – and will improve your chance of getting a non-rambling answer — just email it to one of us or to Valori — Dr Speegle, Christopher Hart, Connie Felter, Kevin Martin, and others will be on hand, and we hope to see you there.
Please let us know if there is anything in the church or on the grounds that needs immediate attention; take a photo with your phone and email (or text) it along with the details to so we can keep our church looking clean and beautiful.
We're going as a group to the Saturday Matinee on January 14, 2023
See Christopher Hart (601-810-5030) to reserve your tickets

Let us pray . . .
O Lord,
mercifully receive the prayers
of your people
who call upon you,
and grant that they may know
and understand
what things they ought to do,
and also may have grace and power
faithfully to accomplish them;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns
with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Keep a check on the Church Calendar
as events are added daily
