Dear <<First Name>>,

Welcome back to Warwick as we start a new year and a new term. I hope you’ve had a great holiday, and are looking forward to getting back to your research and studies, and all the excitement of campus and student life.  There are a few events coming up this term that I’d like to share with you.

This term will see us celebrate the diversity, teamwork and success that sports groups, clubs and societies bring to our campus and the wider community. It would be fantastic to see the whole University get behind TeamWarwick as they take on Coventry University in this year’s Varsity tournament in February. We’ll also be celebrating the success of our most recent graduates in January’s degree congregations.

On Thursday this week, join the SU as they profile the importance of mental health at this month’s Are You OK day. The next round of SU elections will also be held this term. This is an opportunity to put yourself forward to represent the student community in next year’s sabbatical officer team, or to vote for those who best articulate the direction in which you’d like your Union to be taken.

In February, please do share your opinions on your experience at Warwick in the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey. This is an important avenue through which to provide your feedback to help us continue to improve the Warwick experience.

SU President Luke Pilot and I will also be hosting Any Questions? on 23 January.  We hope to use this opportunity to debate key issues at Warwick and in the broader higher education context and to hear from you. A panel from the SU sabbs team and University Executive Office, chaired by one of our students, will answer your questions, which you can submit here.

For those who have exams, best of luck and do look at the support available to all students via our wellbeing services and, for everyone else, best wishes for a happy and successful term 2.

Stuart
