The Release of Crow's Rest is Only Two Months Away!

I realized the other day that at this time in 2013, I was madly entering writing contests and critique opportunities, trying to find Crow's Rest a home with an agent or publisher. Little did I know that by the end of that year, I'd have an offer from Spencer Hill Press, and my book would be on its way to becoming published!

Now, Crow's Rest is only about eight weeks away from hitting the bookshelves and shipping boxes. There will be lots of events on the web and in person to celebrate! Here are some places you can find me online and in stores:

  • On March 30, I'll be taping an episode of Story Connection with Danna Wilberg (episode will air in late April, so watch for an update on that)
  • On April 8, I'll be featured on Q&A Wednesdays on the Fearless 15ers blog
  • On April 17, I'll be featured on Fearless Fridays post on the Fearless 15ers blog
  • Late April/early May: Jennifer Chambliss Bertman will feature my Creative Spaces on her blog
  • May 2, SCBWI Spring Spirit Conference NOTE: By special arrangement with Spencer Hill Press, a limited number of copies of Crow's Rest will be available for signing. If you're planning on coming to the conference and want a signed copy, you can pre-order it here to make sure you get one.
  • May 12 is the official release date for Crow's Rest! Orders placed through online stores should start shipping on this date
  • May 31, an interview with one of the Sweet Sixteens on their blog
  • June 6, join me at Face in a Book in the El Dorado Hills Town Center for a reading, Q&A, and signing for Crow's Rest.
  • June 20, I'll be at the UtopYA Con in Nashville, TN, signing from 11-4. I will get a preorder form up next month, so I can be sure to bring enough copies.
What else is in the works, you may ask? Well, I'm currently drafting the sequel to Crow's Rest, tentatively entitled No Man's Land, which picks up the story a few months after Crow's Rest ends. And my publisher, Spencer Hill Press, is working with me to create an illustrated companion to Crow's Rest, so watch for more news on that. For your viewing pleasure, I'm also including the Crow's Rest book trailer below, and the teaser images I've revealed so far.

Thanks for reading, and see you next time!
